How your level is decided
- Writing is graded by AI against a fixed, published rubric, in two independent passes, with a third pass breaking ties.
- Your level is the lower of your multiple-choice level and your writing level — you cannot place above what you can write.
- The credential shows the level only, never a numeric score.
- Levels currently carry a beta marker while cutoffs are calibrated against real attempts. Issued levels are never downgraded.
- You can request one free independent re-grade of the writing section per attempt.
- You can retake after 30 days to improve; the credential always shows your highest level earned.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as IELTS or TOEFL?
No, and it does not claim equivalence to any other test. It is CEFR-aligned — levels A1 to C2 follow the CEFR framework's descriptors — but it measures informal written chat English, a register academic tests do not cover.
What CEFR-aligned level do agencies usually want?
English-dependent chat work typically expects B2 or above, but every agency sets its own bar. The credential reports your level; the hiring decision is always the employer's.
How is the writing section graded?
By AI against a fixed, published rubric covering grammar, naturalness, register, and task completion. Each response is graded in two independent passes, with a third pass breaking ties. You can request one free independent re-grade per attempt, run on a different model — if it differs, you keep the higher result.
Why do levels carry a beta marker?
Score cutoffs are being calibrated against real attempts, so early levels are marked beta. Once issued, a level is never downgraded — recalibration only affects future placements.
Does it test speaking or listening?
No. Chatters type. Testing speech would add cost and exclude good candidates without telling employers anything the job needs.
Can I retake the assessment to get a higher level?
